Seattlest Takes on Shoefiti
Tom from the Seattlest took umbrage with the term “Shoefiti” after waking up on Tuesday with a case of the Mondays. Perhaps is the rain and clouds that draw out Mondays further into the week?
Many urban legends abound about the mysterious and allegedly artistic practice known simply as shoe tossing. Unfortunately, some have given this time-honored manifestation the rather terrible name of shoefiti. For the record, and for what it’s worth, we strenuously object to this unfortunate portmanteau.
Criticism without creative suggestions for alternatives is worth the bits is written on.
My experience with the term, which goes back as long as the term itself, tells me that people quickly understand the meaning of the term. They also understand more about the meaning of shoefiti as they break down the term. A win-win in my book.
