Consistent with national trends, a rather strange phenomenon is becoming more common in the state of Oregon. Though a fairly widespread practice, its origins are subject to more speculation and conjecture than fact.

Shoefiti, a more dignified name for shoe flinging, is the practice of throwing shoes with shoelaces tied together so that they hang from overhead wires such as power or telephone cables.
