Shoefiti Strikes Costa Rica

A visitor to Puntarenas, Costa Rica has been noticing shoes on the power lines and associates it with drug dealing:

Mis aventuras en Costa Rica: Another Block of Randomness

Ok, so the only other stray thought that I’ve had in the past week: Shoes on power lines. Yeah, I’ve seen about three pairs of shoes hanging from power lines. Do people throw those up there? or do they use a ladder to carefully place them? Maybe the latter to mark that a stabbing has occurred or to mark the meeting place for a drug deal. I only say this because the last pair that I saw was in the alley next to the stadium and that place is pretty sketch. can’t walk by myself there after dark. No Sr.
