Should we feel sorry for shoes hanging from power lines?
Ned Gulley of StarChamber.com wonders if others feel sorry for shoes hanging from power lines:
Do you ever feel sorry for inanimate objects? Things left behind and
unloved, like old shoes dangling from a phone line? Here’s a site
(courtesy of my friend St. Frank) that specializes in taking care of Old Sad Things. As BeeJay, the owner and chief gamekeeper of the site says: “I like old sad things.”

Personally, I think the shoes have it pretty good on the lines. Sure, they get soaked every time it rains, but they probably dry out fast, and have a great view. Well, I guess the ones hanging alleys behind crack houses don’t have the greatest view, but I’m sure it’s an interesting one.
Where would you like to end up if you were a pair of shoes? Hanging from a power line? Forgotten deep in a closet? Or on the first truck to the landfill?
